Introduction to Autism Alliance

Autism Alliance Association Inc. was formed in 2006 with the aim of establishing an Autism Specific School for children aged 9 through to 18 years. Currently Victoria does not have an Autism Specific School for children of this age group. Without a specialized school catering for the specific needs of autistic children, they cannot be expected to reach their full potential and maximize their independence.

Autism Alliance is comprised of a Management Committee of six very dedicated professionals, whose role is to oversee the implementation of this project. All Management Committee positions are on a voluntary basis and are outlined in the attached leaflet “Autism Alliance at a Glance”.

There are also a large number of passionate individuals involved in our fundraising and our Grounds & Works Committees. Partnerships with a number of professionals and advisors have been created and they have been providing services and supporting Autism Alliance with this project. These are also outlined in the leaflet.

There has been overwhelming professional and community support for this project and unanimous agreement that this school is essential to fill the gap in appropriate education for autistic children.
